《橡胶树寓言》共分四辑，第一辑的散文是作者大学时期实验性的南洋书写，橡胶树始终是他文学想象拥抱最紧最深南洋书写的母题。第二辑的散文与第三辑的诗，那是从美国重返南洋，决定以文学重建他的南洋热带雨林的文化工程。王润华教授先后出版了《橡胶树》、《南洋乡土集》、《热带雨林与殖民地》、《王润华南洋文 学选集》等书。同时他也把橡胶树变形记的书写，与白人的殖民书写，如英国作家毛姆东南亚小说作超连结，变成比较文学与文化的论述。橡胶树与后现代与后殖民各种理论错综复杂连结在一起，发展出一系列学术论述，现在收纳进本文集第四辑之中。

《聲聲慢》收錄黃薈如自2013至2023年創作的散文與小說。部分文章為得獎作品，另部分文章也曾刊登於各報刊與文藝雜誌，其中小部分文章未曾发表。《聲聲慢》分為四輯，第一輯——尋尋覓覓，收錄五篇與尋覓、苦候相關的作品。第二輯——三杯兩盞淡酒，延續尋覓苦候基調，收錄與孤獨、宿命相關題材的作品。第三輯——滿地黃花堆積，書寫生命的盛放，卻又感歎花期短暫，流光易逝。第四輯——梧桐更兼細雨，書寫生命日常的荒蕪、荒誕與無奈。 《聲聲慢》取自宋代詞牌，取其“慢”意——調長拍緩，曼聲纏綿。取“聲聲”意——聲聲盼望，望穿秋水終於“慢慢”結集成第一本正式出版品。又取宋代女詞人李清照廣為人知〈聲聲慢 · 尋尋覓覓〉凝練的情景結構，詞中脈絡也正吻合作品的題材分類，古典的場景與現代創作相映成趣。
