《聲聲慢》收錄黃薈如自2013至2023年創作的散文與小說。部分文章為得獎作品，另部分文章也曾刊登於各報刊與文藝雜誌，其中小部分文章未曾发表。《聲聲慢》分為四輯，第一輯——尋尋覓覓，收錄五篇與尋覓、苦候相關的作品。第二輯——三杯兩盞淡酒，延續尋覓苦候基調，收錄與孤獨、宿命相關題材的作品。第三輯——滿地黃花堆積，書寫生命的盛放，卻又感歎花期短暫，流光易逝。第四輯——梧桐更兼細雨，書寫生命日常的荒蕪、荒誕與無奈。
《聲聲慢》取自宋代詞牌，取其“慢”意——調長拍緩，曼聲纏綿。取“聲聲”意——聲聲盼望，望穿秋水終於“慢慢”結集成第一本正式出版品。又取宋代女詞人李清照廣為人知〈聲聲慢 · 尋尋覓覓〉凝練的情景結構，詞中脈絡也正吻合作品的題材分類，古典的場景與現代創作相映成趣。
